Information on the facilities offering Trans-national access is available at the project web-site (www.nadir-project.eu). Applicants may identify in the proposal a preferred partner facility to undertake their project. However proposals that do not identify a preferred partner facility are also acceptable. The NADIR executive committee may propose alternative possibilities in case of unavailability for any reason of the requested facility.

Request for eligibility:

Applicants are strongly recommended to submit a request to check for eligibility criteria. The criteria are available in the Annexe III to the grant agreement here.

Your e-mail will include the following documents:

  1. The pdf application form
  2. The CV of each participant
  3. The letter of support (one per participant institution)
  4. The outcomes of previous participations to NADIR Transnational Access (if applicable)

The NADIR TA  management will acknowledge receipt of all applications and review all applications for basic selection criteria (eligibility criteria, on-time submission, formal and administrative requirements, completeness). Any applications found to be in breach of the EC rules will be removed. The proposal must be complete and in compliance with the guidelines stipulated in the NADIR Application Form and the Annex III to the Grant Agreement .
 

Scientific evaluation:

Eligible proposals will be reviewed by a User Selection Panel (USP). The USP consisting of at least 50% of external experts will meet every 2 month (see timelines below).  
The TA management team will inform the applicant and possible host installations of the decision made by the USP.
After scientific approval, the applicant will be invited to contact the proposed host platform to agree on the experiments, starting date, and duration of the project.
The host infrastructure will inform the NADIR Executive committee about the outcome of the agreement with the user and the necessary access units within 4 weeks.
 

Final decision

The final decision will be made by the NADIR Executive committee based on the decision of the USP and the agreement of the host platform (and the European Commission when necessary). Users will be informed of the final decision by email by the management team.
 

Time lines

The call was launched in December 2009 and will remain open until January 2013, or until Transnational Access funds are exhausted. The terms of reference and eligible topics may change depending on the uptake of Transnational Access, the topic of the projects selected and the availability of capacity within the individual facilities.

Coming deadlines for the submission of the proposals:

  • March 2nd, 2012
  • May 4th, 2012
  • July 6th, 2012
  • September 7th, 2012
  • November 9th, 2012
  • January 4th, 2013 final deadline

Reporting

At the end of the project:

1.    Access users are requested to provide a report within 2 months after the end of the project. (no later than 31 March 2013 for the projects finishing in 2013) to the TA management at:
ta-nadir@listes.inra.fr And to the contact person at the host institution You can find the report template here.

2.    Users are also requested to fill in a questionnaire on-line on the following European Commission’s website: http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/capacities/questionnaire_en.html;
The answer to question No. 1 is: “NADIR (228394)”.

3.     Users are reminded about their commitment to disseminate the foreground generated by the access to NADIR infrastructures: Every publication or dissemination item connected with the research stay should mention the following acknowledgement: “The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7, 2007-2013), Research Infrastructures action, under the grant agreement No. FP7-228394 (NADIR project).”
Users should inform the host institution and NADIR Transnational Access management when publications are accepted.
